v2.2.1 is Born, but No One Knows its Name

Just like the new prince, the name for our latest 'child' is unknown, but that doesn't stop us from sharing it to the world!  Though we wanted to leave the 'old school' world of 0.9x as quickly as we can, we were perhaps a bit hasty and have thus relented.  Some of the biggest changes in v2.2.1 are the return of some 0.9x theme support, but now we display helpful messages on how to update your custom themes (when logged in as admin).  We've also integrated Facebook and increased our Twitter integration.  Furthermore as promised, we now provide paged forms (or wizards) in addition to some other form module tweaks, have vastly enhanced the 'Quick Add' upload feature, plus many other tweaks and fixes.

Twitter API v1 Blacked Out! (Fixed by v2.2.0 Patch 4)

We knew it would eventually occur, but the API to work with Twitter v1 has been blacked out in favor of v1.1.  You've probably already seen this warning message on your site, esp. if you have ever set up a Twitter module.  There is a forthcoming fix (v2.2.0patch4) due later this week which will attempt to fix this, but in the past had caused page breaks when Twitter was bogged down.  Here are some work-arounds in the mean time:

A New Module is Born

Q: What do you get when you cross the Flowplayer module, the YouTube module, and HTML5 compatibility?  A: the new Media Player module!  We recently added a new module to the v2.2.0 pre-release code line called the Media Player module.  It is designed to display Audio (mp3) and Video (mp4, webm, ogv, flv, or f4v) files, and YouTube links in an HTML5 compliant manner (Flash player is not always required).  This is done by using the MediaElement.js library instead of Flowplayer and also using HTML5 audio/video tags.

exponentcms.org Sites Back Up!

The suite of exponentcms.org sites (www.exponentcms.org, docs.exponentcms.org, forums.exponentcms.org, api.exponentcms.org & testing1.exponentcms.org) have been migrated to a new server and are back up and running!  Access to those sites had been slow and intermittent (at best) for the past several months.  We apologize for the delay in solving this problem.
